This weekend I got a haircut, foot & back massage, a Pilates class and a new sweater. :)
It would be nice to say I planned this weekend to be full of self-care but in truth it just came about somewhat organically.
Getting my haircut makes me feel so pampered and relaxed. It helps that I've found a really great stylist here in San Francisco (bonus points, the salon they work at has a dog!) and I always look forward to my appointments. I had booked yesterday's session a few weeks ago, and then afterwards, on the stylist's referral, I also dropped by a nearby spa for a fantastic foot & back massage. It was exactly what I needed.
I signed up for the Pilates class two days beforehand when I realized my schedule was free. Unfortunately, I never made it to the last two classes I registered for, so actually going was a small triumph. But again, exactly what I needed.
And finally, the sweater, not a 'need' per se but definitely a purchase I'd been considering for a few weeks now. I was thinking a big grey cocoon cardigan would round out my non-work wardrobe, and maybe could be used in the office with some sleeker pieces. I'd been looking around and was going to order this one online, but found this one in the store today (the cashier even took the tags off for me and I wore it out of the store):

Other things that happened this weekend: happy hour, a birthday party, Church (witnessed a toddler getting baptized who blew out his own baptismal candle), a lazy afternoon nap, dropping off the husband going away for a work trip, groceries/errands, meal prep for the week, tidying up, chatting with Mom on Mother's Day, etc... Not much else I could ask for in a weekend, or for the start of a new week.
