March Wrap Up

I've been having this feeling all winter where I think it's more like May or September, maybe because the climate is so mild... I keep pinching myself that I haven't been buried in snow like the East Coast. Now it's actually Spring which means glorious 65,70-degree weather in the Bay Area. Granted it gets cooler in the evening, particularly in San Francisco, but it still feels great to get home from work with the sun still out. Here's what's been going on this month:

Food & Drink around San Francisco:
  • Don Pisto (while puttering around North Beach, but craving for Mexican instead of Italian)
  • Sunset Reservoir Brewing (to catch up with old friends)
  • NōVY (ditto... also this is a new spot in Noe Valley with very reasonable prices for great food)
  • Woodhouse Fish Co. (lovely little date night, and the food was delicious)
  • Rosewood Sand Hill (ok, not SF.... but near the office, and checked it out with coworkers)
  • The Devil's Acre (where I attended the whiskey tasting... I'd def go back, it's very hipster-y)

Watched:
Girls (best season yet), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (loveable!)... and got totally hooked on Empire:

Also, checked out the premiere of Younger on Hulu and really like Sutton Foster on it.

Reading:

The Girl on the Train... just started but really enjoying it.

Also, this series of articles from Grist on tech companies' office parks is pretty timely. As I've mentioned, I do a reverse commute down to the Valley, taking (crowded) public transportation while many of my coworkers drive in ever-increasing traffic.

Community:
I volunteer as the lead regional alumni ambassador for my grad school, which is on the East Coast, but a whole lot of us live on the West Coast, and I'm just trying to figure out the right kind of event to get us all together.
